چکیده

Fuzzy modus ponens (briefly, FMP) is the most fundamental form of fuzzy reasoning and has been extensively discussed by diverse researchers. The aim of the present paper is to propose a formalized form of FMP, called generalized modus ponens, in the fuzzy logic system L and solve it in L, and then provide its numerical version as a new algorithm for solving FMP. As a preparation, some related questions such as what is a fuzzy logic metric space, why is R0-implication operator selected, and what kind of merits does the fuzzy pseudo-metric logic space (F(S), ρ) possess, etc. are analyzed. c © 2007 Elsevier Ltd. Some properties of fuzzy reasoning in propositional fuzzy logic systems

In order to analyze the logical foundation of fuzzy reasoning, this paper first introduces the concept of generalized roots of theories in Łukasiewicz propositional fuzzy logic Łuk, Gödel propositional fuzzy logic Göd, Product propositional fuzzy logic P, and nilpotent minimum logic NM (the R0-propositional fuzzy logic L ). Next, it is proved that all consequences of a theory C, named D(C), are...

On the joint verification of Modus Ponens and Modus Tollens in fuzzy logic

This paper deals with the joint verification of the inequalities of Modus Ponens and Modus Tollens in Fuzzy Logic. Although the case of Modus Ponens was partially considered before, the case of Modus Tollens and the joint satisfaction of both inequalities are studied by the first time. The cases of R-implications, Simplications, Q-implications and MamdaniLarsen implications are separatedly cons...

A Mamdani Type Fuzzy Logic Controller

The database of a rule-based systemmay contain imprecisionswhich appear in the description of the rules given by the expert. Because such an inference can not be made by the methods which use classical two valued logic or many valued logic, Zadeh in (Zadeh, 1975) and Mamdani in (Mamdani, 1977) suggested an inference rule called "compositional rule of inference". Using this inference rule, sever...

On MPT-implication functions for Fuzzy Logic

This paper deals with numerical functions able to functionally express operators defined as , and verifying either Modus Ponens or Modus Tollens, or both. The concrete goal of the paper is to search for continuous t-norms and strong-negation functions for which it is either (Modus Ponens), or (Modus Tollens), or both, for all in and a given . Functions are taken among those in the most usual fa...

Logic and Fuzzy Relations

It is introduced an approach to the problem of "building logics" over sets of facts with only structured by a fuzzy relation of "consequence". Notions of "Truth" and "Falsehood" are introduced by means of two generalizations for classical Modus Ponens and Modus Tollens. Studying this concepts a theoretical base to explain the mode of reasoning in expert systems is obtained. By studying fuzzy tr...
